We are now finally into the last month of the summer 2013 transfer window and awesome stuff for the club so far. One signing! A lot of rumors, but nothing really materializing yet is really making me worried. It really starts to remind me of the 2011 summer where we were making signings on deadline day. The only memorable signing from then? Arteta, period. Even with Arteta though, he wasn’t exactly the stellar signing that we had all hoped for. Eden Hazard was all we were in for at the time.
However, this far into this transfer window, it now really makes no sense to give an insight into the signings that we are linked with. Why? Because most of our highest priorities have moved already, aside Suarez and Rooney. However, Wayne is linked more with Manchester United, while Liverpool want a Bale price for Suarez. Suarez and Bale are on similar levels, but it doesn’t mean we need to pay a Bale price, as while Gareth Bale is talented, his price is extremely inflated.
So, regarding transfers for this window, my suggestion is… patience. It’s amazing, how we’re not able to close out on deals. We’ve picked up some awesome players for crazy prices, like Cazorla. However, we can’t be cashing in on the cheap every single time. We need to lose sometimes too. Enough with the transfers and on with our first somewhat “competitive” friendly game.
Arsenal 2 : 2 SSC Napoli
Lorenzo Insigne (7′)
Goran Pandev (28′)
Olivier Giroud (71′)
Laurent Koscielny (87′)
I would say a great comeback against a team that is definitely superior to us. Highlights to follow.
